Three Individuals Dr. Venkatramana, Dr. Deopujari and Dr. Suri started informal group of "Indian Study Group of Neuroendoscopy" in 2003 with several operative workshops and hands on cadaver training.

This group invited the VI International Federation of Neuroendoscopy (IFNE) meeting to Mumbai in 2013. Following the success of this meeting, the group was converted into a formal society so called (Neuroendoscopy Society of India) during the 1st Annual Meeting organized by Dr. C. E. Deopujari at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai in 2014. Dr. Amin Kassam was the invited guest and Orator preceded by live surgery and cadaver skullbase workshop.

This was continued further at the 2nd Annual Meeting organized by Dr. Venkatramana at Bengaluru where society was officially registered at Karnataka State. Dr. Henry Schroeder, Dr. Spyros Soguros, Dr. Abhaya Kulkarni, Dr. Ahmed Zohdi and Charlie Teo (Orator) were the foreign faculty who carried out pre-congress live surgery workshop. Dr. C. E. Deopujari delivered the first presidential oration at 2nd Annual Meeting.

Dr. Venkat became the next president and Dr. Bhavani Sharma was the president elect, who organized the next 3rd Annual Meeting at AIIMS, New Delhi. Dr. Henry Schroeder was the Orator and conducted pre-conference workshop along with Dr. Sharma. The participants increase from 90 in the first Mumbai meeting to 150 for the second in Bengaluru and 175 in Delhi. The membership also increased to almost 100. Dr. Venkat delivered the presidential oration. Dr. Bharatiya was nominated as president elect

The 4th Annual Society meeting was organized by Dr. Hemant Bharatiya in Jaipur in 2017. Dr. Sharma delivered the presidential oration and Dr. Cinalli gave the guest oration. Other overseas faculty included Dr. Oertel and Dr. Padayachee. A live surgery workshop followed by 2 days of scientific deliberation. Dr. Yadav was elected to be the next president

The 5th Annual Meeting was organized in Jabalpur by Dr. Yadav where Dr. Shlomi Constantini delivered the oration and Dr. Sharma gave presidential address. Live surgery as well as cadaver workshop was conducted. Dr. Joachim Oertel also conducted the workshop along with Dr. Rohidas

Next 6th Annual Meeting was held in Madurai by Dr. Bhagat Singh where Dr. Yadav gave the presidential lecture and Guest oration was by Dr. Oertel, Dr. Elbabaa was also a guest faculty along with Dr. Shlomi Constantini, Dr. Suresh Sankhala was elected as next president

The 7th meeting was planned to be conducted in the month of March 2020 which got postponed to 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic, and 7th Meeting was conducted in Hybrid Mode (Virtual + Physical). The chair of the conference was Dr. Manas Panigrahi and Dr. Subodh Raju was the organising secretary.

The Scientific programme was planned for 4 days and was divided in to virtual and physical accordingly. Day 1: Oration and WFNS / IFNE Symposium (Virtual). Day 2: Hands on Cadaver Workshop and Live Surgeries held at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad. Day 3 & 4: Conference (Invited Faculty Talks, Free Papers (Physical & Virtual). Dr. Suresh Sankhla delivered the presidential oration and Prof. Paolo Cappabianca gave the NESI oration.

Total attendees for the conference was 357 where 139 people attended the conference physically and 218 were viewed the conference virtually. Dr. Manas Panigrahi took over as a president and Dr. Ashish Pathak was the president elect.

Next Annual Meeting will be conducted in New Delhi in the Month of March 2022.
